Personal chef and cooking instructor in Austin, TX. My specialty covers foods from South America to North America. I'm motivated by the stories behind cooking and expressing that story into the flavor of the food. In 2017, my brother and I created Yuyo Peruano restaurant as a celebration of my culinary immersion throughout South America, where I connected with the people and the culinary community from Bolivia, Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay. I was recognized by the James Beard Foundation with a Best Chef nomination in 2019. Due to covid Yuyo closed with many other opportunities to cook for many more than I could have imagined through CookUnity.

Chipotle Chicken Salad
Salad was very watery but delicious overall. Next time I’ll drain it before adding dressing. More dressing would be nice.

Ancho Chile-Butter Red Fish
Fish was too salty. Everything else like texture and buttery taste was good, but even the mushrooms were salty.

Spicy Ancho Chile Con Carne Hot Dog
It would have been nice if the hot dog bun was wrapped separately like the hamburger buns. the amount of slaw could have been put in a separate container. the hot dog was tasty.

Southern Fried Steak
Their green beans are the worst tasting green beans I’ve ever had. I can never eat them. The steak was okay and the cauliflower mash was decent. Gravy was good.
