Chef Wanting & Yong's Firecracker Chicken was a hit from the first day they started serving it in their restaurants. The firecracker sauce they developed combines garlicky spice with a touch of sweetness and acidity that excites with every bite. A side of fluffy Kokuho rice is there to soothe the palate alongside some fresh broccoli. This dish brings the heat!

Found instructions on ALL packages somewhat lacking for a first time user. However, able to adjust with better results. Longer reheat times, dividing sauces so have some to add at end, simple suggestions. Again as a first time hesitated to

The first bite felt a little too spicy, but once I adjusted, I couldn’t get enough of the sauce. The vegetables weren’t great, but the rest of it was delicious.

Not enough rice imo, the chicken is cut into weirdly large pieces for a dish like this (larger than pictured) and the meat is very fatty/gristley. Could have been really good though if fixed!
Chefs Wanting Zhang and Yong Zhao grew up in Northern China, met in college in Beijing, and went to Yale for graduate school. Zhang and Yong shared a common love for the food they grew up with and missed eating authentic and healthy Northern Chinese food every day. They loved the diverse flavors of their home so much that they opened the first Junzi Kitchen in New Haven in 2015 to share their favorite dishes with their classmates and community. Since then Junzi Kitchen has been an institution beloved by Chinese and non-Chinese diners alike, eventually opening in New York City as one of the highest reviewed Chinese restaurants. Through CookUnity, they're excited to share those healthy and delicious traditional recipes with you.
